What Makes a Jeep Wrangler Trail Rated?

Jeep's Trail Rated® badge is awarded to only a few models, meaning it's a badge of honor you can trust! To earn the badge, Jeeps must pass tests on traction, water fording, maneuverability, articulation, and ground clearance with flying colors. If you own a Wrangler, you don't have to worry about your car's electrical systems while traversing through hefty waters or worry about running into deep potholes. Your Wrangler is designed with these obstacles in mind, allowing you to keep your eyes on the open land before you. Where will your Jeep Wrangler take you next?

Jeep Wrangler 4x4 Systems Overview

Did you know the Wrangler 4x4 has been tested on the most challenging terrain globally? The 4x4 can traverse the most grueling mud, gravel, rock, and snow to protect you from the harshest forces of nature. Choose from three 4x4 systems available: the Command-Trac, Selec-Trac, and Rock-Trac. The Command-Trac® Part-Time 4x4 System lets you gain traction from all four car wheels simultaneously, intensifying its capability. Climb over challenging terrain safely with its 2.72:1 low-range power without slip-ups. The Selec-Trac® 4x4 System's two-wheel or four-wheel drive options activate automatically on roads to provide more traction and control when needed most. But if your off-road experiences typically including ascending rocky roads, the Rock-Trac® 4x4 System is the best one for you! It has a 4:1 low gear ratio, meaning that it allows you to drive slower and gain more precision with your driving without losing any momentum. With both part-time and full-time controls, you can easily customize your drive.

Which Wrangler Models Are Best for Off-Roading?

All Wranglers are designed for adventure, but the Willys and Rubicon trims are far the most advanced for off-road capability and safety. The Willys power starts at its Command-Trac® Part-Time 4x4 System and rear locker setting, allowing you to climb higher. Add-on to the already impressive model with a few top add-on options like the ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System or the XTreme 35-Inch Tire Package. The Wrangler Rubicon is fueled by the Rock-Trac® Heavy-Duty Part-Time 4x4 System and 33-inch off-road all-terrain tires with a 100:1 crawl ratio. This trim has front and rear lockers and an innovative full-float rear axle. Available only for this trim, get an extra capability package to get steel bumpers and the Jeep WARN® Winch.
